How to get to the UniS building:
The UniS building is based in the “Länggass-Quartier“, i.e., in walking distance from the train station. The conference will be spread across three lecture rooms in the UniS building (Schanzeneckstrasse 1). The registration desk will be outside room A003 in the main hall of the building (ground floor).
By bus:
If you’re coming from the city center, take the bus number 12 (direction: Länggasse) and get off at the stop “Universität“. Cross the road and walk back for about 100 meters, then turn to the right (Schanzeneckstrasse). The UniS building is on your left.
By foot, coming from the train station:
The main train station lies underneath the university, so there are a number of ways that will take you to UniS:
Via “Grosse Schanze” / Lifts:
Coming from the platforms, follow the signs saying “Universität“. Get on the lift that takes you to the top floor, the “Grosse Schanze.“ Get off the lift. With a bit of luck you’ll be able to enjoy a spectacular view of the Bernese Oberland. However, work is calling. Turn around, and you will face the big main building of the University. The building UniS is now, basically, to your left, but you first need to cross the “Länggassstrasse“. Thus, walk towards the impressive main building, but walk past it, then turn to the left, cross the main road and you are on „Schanzeneckstrasse“, Uni S being right by the corner. The registration desk will be outside room A003 in the main hall of the building (ground floor).
By the “wavy” roof, Welle 7:
Coming from the platforms, walk towards the elevators that take you up to the next level with its typical wavy, wooden roof. Move in the uphill direction, taking another elevator. Keep straight, cross the road in front of you. You are now on “Länggassstrasse”. Stay on the left side of the road and walk uphill for another c. 200m. Then turn left and you are on “Schanzeneckstrasse“, UniS being right by the corner, to your left. The registration desk will be outside room A003 in the main hall of the building (ground floor).
